An unusual tower in an important monastery that was founded in 1535.
Between 1549 and 1555, Gerasimos Notaras lived here (later, "Saint Gerasimos", the patron-saint of Kefalonia.)
The construction of the tower started in 1561 (by the Greek monks) to protect the monastery from the pirates.
