A twin of the neighboring castle of Peratia (or of Grivas). They were both built by Ali pasha around 1807 when he was planning an invasion to the island of Lefkas (never happened).

It was captured during the Greek revolution by G.Tsongas in May 1821.

Current Condition

From a distance, the castle appears to be in very good condition but inside the castle the situation is disappointing.
