The abandoned monastery of Agios Athanasios is at the location Fourkari opposite the islet Soupia and Hydra.

The monastery was protected by a fortified wall which has not been repaired (unlike other old monasteries). The area was purchased in 1920 by a private owner. The monastery was already deserted at that time.

There is no information about the history and the time of construction of the complex. The fortification and the other buildings seem to belong in the post-byzantine period. Maybe they were built in the 17th or the 18th century.
